THE OPPORTUNITY
Responsible for managing the facilities maintenance and repair programs for four-five regions of U.S. restaurants (East or West). Provides leadership for Facility Managers and Facilities Specialists who are a support function within each geographic region. Directs key annual budgetary decisions for capital expenditure projects and equipment upgrades. Works strategically with VP of Operations on innovative ways to leverage brand scale for 3rd party repair services providers. Directs routine systems and responses for emergencies, managing risk, managing contractors, and partners with development team for relative new restaurant opening equipment procedures.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Establish preventive and sustainable facility maintenance and repair programs through balancing external and internal services.
- Manage CapEx budgets by providing our operators with safe, functional workplaces measured by service scores, team member retention, timeliness and quality of repairs.
- Coordinate quarterly M&R evaluations to create a culture of accountability in the restaurants. The Facilities Team will conduct a minimum of 3 preventive maintenance surveys within 12 months and provide the Regional Operations Team with brief recaps of what was accomplished during those visits
- Drive General Manager ownership of equipment and upkeep to reduce future cost of repair.
- Lead communication and training initiatives with Facilities Managers and Facilities Support Center team
- Improve external vendor base by implementing a vendor tracking program and use metrics to analyze opportunities and successes
- Identify and execute strategies that align with Development, Marketing and NRO on our remodel and company initiative programs. Be strategic with spending decisions on locations identified
- Ensure managers, crew, and other restaurant employees are consistently following facility maintenance practices and procedures and reporting any issues to RVPs and VP of Operations.
- Develop a mentorship program that leverages our top performing Facilities Specialists to share best practices. Create hands-on training for our Facility Support Team that allows each team member a week in the field with an SFS to gain development in their diagnostic role
- Point of communication of contractor deficiencies on re-investment or repair projects. Track, analyze, and identify equipment innovation for efficient repair cost of service from vendors.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- B.A. in Business Management or an equivalent education and experience
- 8+ years of experience in Facilities at a large organization with multiple units and field teams
- 5-8 years of experience as a people leader of a Facilities Team
- Project management certificate and any trade certificates preferred
- Organized, excellent communication, advanced computer skills and detail orientated. Need to be able to work autonomously and direct large field teams
- Strong financial analysis and ability to read and understand P&L
- Ability to travel up to 50%
PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $105,000-191,000. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
