THE OPPORTUNITY
The Sr Manage, Procurement (Protein & Commissary) is responsible for leading and developing a team responsible for sourcing and contracting beef, pork, tofu, spices, beans, salt, and other tier 2 ingredients as well as contract and manage the conversion of these ingredients into our steak, barbacoa, carnitas, sofritas, beans, salsa, queso, salsas and sauces. This role is heavily engaged in supporting menu innovation and LTOs. Additionally, this role is key to cultivating strategic relationships, ensuring our strict Food With Integrity requirements are met, while understanding and leading initiatives to ensure CMG is in position to support continued growth.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work closely with Sr Director of Procurement to set strategy in designated categories and to determine optimum supplier allocation, pricing, contract structure, capacity, and risk.
- Support and lead team of direct reports to ensure execution of the strategy and own supplier compliance to contract terms, product availability, quality and service level expectations, and cost.
- Develop and empower a team of buyers in their respective categories to achieve Chipotle's key initiatives and personal growth.
- Manage cross-functional projects and work collaboratively with other teams to drive menu innovation, develop, and execute win-win solutions to meet business needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders and ensure they are aligned with Chipotle goals and values.
- Maintain subject-matter expertise on designated categories for both internal needs and external market trends including regular updates on industry outlooks and cost forecasts.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with key suppliers.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required.
- MBA in applicable field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience
- 3+ years’ experience leading teams
- Proficient with MS Office applications and ERP systems
- Resourceful, works well under pressure, systems thinker, and has a positive approach to working with others.
- Strategic data-driven decision-making, financial acumen, lead negotiator, conflict resolution, project management, strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $129,000.00–$178,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
