THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Senior Manager, Agile Teams Delivery, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of Scrum Masters who support our Agile development teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our Scrum Masters are equipped with the necessary tools, knowledge, and guidance to effectively facilitate and drive our agile development processes across multiple projects and teams. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile principles and frameworks, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to influence and motivate teams to deliver high-quality software products.  The Senior Manager, Agile Teams Delivery will significantly impact Chipotle by improving Agile efficiency and employee and customer satisfaction by ensuring a culture of relentless improvement, on-time delivery and to the highest quality standards using Agile Methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of Scrum Masters, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their success. 

  • Leadership and Team Management: Individual performance management, hiring a team of top performers, providing training opportunities to advance career growth and knowledge.

  • Leadership and Team Management: Foster a culture of relentless improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the Scrum Master team.

  • Agile Process Implementation: Drive the adoption and consistent application of Agile principles, values, and best practices throughout the organization.

  • Agile Process Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and refine Agile methodologies and frameworks that best fit the needs of the organization.

  • Agile Process Implementation: Ensure Scrum Masters effectively facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Agile Process Implementation: Identify and address process bottlenecks and impediments to improve team productivity and delivery.

  • Coaching and Support: Coach and mentor Scrum Masters in their understanding and application of Agile practices and principles.

  • Coaching and Support: Provide guidance and support to Scrum Masters in facilitating effective collaboration and communication within Agile development teams.

  • Coaching and Support: Assist Scrum Masters in utilizing appropriate KPIs to track team performance and drive continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Functional Managers, Product, Agile Delivery Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery of business value.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and report on the progress, risks, and dependencies of Agile process initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between the Scrum Master team and leadership, advocating for Agile best practices and driving organizational change.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, stakeholders, and teams to drive organizational agility.

  • Ensure Scrum Masters and Agile team processes are in support of the Half Year Roadmap and Quarterly Plannings facilitated by the Agile Delivery Managers.

  • Regularly monitor, act and communicate on delivery teams’ health and Agile maturity via qualitative and quantitative measures.

  • Relentless Improvement: Drive the adoption of Agile best practices, tools, and techniques within the organization. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and quality.  Encourage a culture of learning, collaboration, empowerment, and innovation.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.

  • Proven experience (8+ years) as a Manager of Scrum Masters or similar role, preferably in the software development or technology industry.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, Confluence).  Including scaling Agile practices.

  • Strong understanding of software development practices and Agile management principles.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.

  • Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner, Certified Scrum Coach (CSC), scaling Agile Certifications) are a plus.

  • Enterprise Agile coaching experience is a plus.

  • Proven knowledge of and usage of Lean-Agile key performance metrics, Flow metrics or similar preferred.

  • Proven continued education and training over a career.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $145,000.00–$214,000.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
