THE OPPORTUNITY
The Manager for Data Platform Engineering and Operations at Chipotle will be an active participant and leader in scaling our enterprise data management solutions and data platforms. Responsibilities include building out our data management solutions, standards and team structure to enable usage of our master data for reporting and our customer data platforms. This role will also lead our data platform engineering team responsible for maintaining and engineering our data platforms to leverage data at scale, ensure its health and stability to enable our Data Engineering, Data Science and Enterprise Reporting teams to build data integrations, models and analytics.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of scalable Data Management solutions (i.e. Master Data Management and Customer Data Platform), incorporating standards and best practices around master data management.
Manage and coach the Data Platform Engineering team on CI/CD standards and processes, along with stabilization and optimization projects to ensure our data platforms are reliable and stable.
Participate in architectural design, evaluation and recommendation discussions to help evaluate new technology, patterns and best practices to improve quality, consistency, and velocity of solution delivery.
Guide the teams towards self-service DevOps model with aspiration for fully automated, zero downtime deployments.
Oversee DevOps duties to administer and maintain the configuration, health, enhancement and secrets of our data platforms.
Collaborate with other teams including the development, infrastructure and security teams to prioritize, troubleshoot, and solve data platform issues.
Partner with our business stakeholders to growth the Data Management practice, expanding on mastering relevant business and reference data along with instituting data stewardship.
Manage our build infrastructure in a cost-effective manner.
Implement an automated build and test pipeline strategy.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year college or university preferred.
4-6 years of work experience in a related field (Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence).
3+ years of prior people management experience.
In-depth understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, PowerBI, MS SQL Server, etc.
Experience with MPP platforms and data modernization initiatives using PaaS/SaaS services.
Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tooling using Azure DevOps and Terraform.
Experience implementing Master Data Management concepts and systems across the organization.
Experience managing an enterprise Customer Data Platform solution.
Have excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
Worked effectively with other cross-functional teams to drive to a resolution.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and embrace constant change.
Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and pay close attention to detail.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $131,000.00–$183,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
