THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Analyst, Restaurant Training is an Instructional Designer, responsible for developing Chipotle's operational training materials used every day by nearly 140,000 team members in over 4,200 restaurants located across the globe.
This role is responsible for the entire lifecycle of training, including analyzing, planning, writing, editing, developing, distributing, managing, and monitoring. They own the training for a variety of new initiatives and rollouts for our Unites States and Canada restaurants, including new menu items, new equipment, technology rollouts and more. They also own the training updates for evergreen training materials used to ensure successful training and day-to-day operations, including training plans, checklists, courses, videos, job aids, recipe cards, and more. They serve as the main contact for Chipotle's print provider on all printed training materials for the United States and Canada.
Additionally, they play a pivotal role in the administration and user experience of Chipotle's training technology, including the learning management system and the company intranet. In order to keep training at Chipotle future-forward, they also actively explore and deliver on new opportunities for training innovation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Collaborate with subject matter experts on various internal teams to understand training needs and scope of project to build a training strategy to present to Restaurant Training leadership
Partner on the hand-off and review of standard operating procedures with subject matter experts, providing feedback as needed to ensure consistency and one best way across all restaurants
Use finalized standard operating procedures to develop training content, including recipes, procedures, scripts and storyboards, that adheres to Chipotle's written style guide with a conversational yet professional tone
Develop new and engaging training materials as defined in project training strategy, ranging from eLearning, video, print and digital, to appeal to a broad spectrum of adult learners
As needed, update existing training materials based on company changes to keep training system up-to-date
Prepare files for final delivery through the learning management system, intranet or print
Partner with the translation team on final hand-off or additional development for any additional languages or localization required
Serve as the Restaurant Training team contact for Chipotle's print provider by; Organizing the planning and communication of monthly shipments to restaurants, managing the production and distribution of new or updated training materials, overseeing the inventory of existing training materials and reordering as needed while factoring in the cost and the needs of the business, reviewing and approving estimates and invoices
Serve as an administrator of Chipotle's learning management system, Workday Learning, by; Uploading and archiving files, answering questions from the field, partnering with the People Tech team on any system changes and updates, including mass enrollments and learning programs, performing any other duties required
Serve as an administrator of the Operations and Training pages of Chipotle's intranet site, Chiplinks (built with Microsoft SharePoint), by; uploading files, creating and editing pages, performing any other duties required
Explore opportunities to elevate current training materials, programs and workflows by researching and discovering new ideas, such as written and visual style guides, translation services, inventory management
Present ideas to Field Training leadership, and with their feedback, build the strategy and partner on the execution and implementation for approved solutions
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Graphic Design, Human Resources, or a related field
3–8 years of training experience in restaurant or retail operations
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Proficient in Adobe InDesign, with working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
Proficient in Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360; knowledge of Vyond preferred
Knowledge of learning management systems, ideally Workday Learning, and Microsoft SharePoint
Experience with translation management systems or computer-assisted translation tools, ideally Smartcat, preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Organized problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities, build business cases, present to leadership, and contribute as an integral team member with general supervision
PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $67,000.00–$95,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
