THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Engineer, Site Reliability, you will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring internal applications as well as working with our third-party partners. You will monitor, maintain, and support CMG’s ticketing queue, and collaborate with appropriate teams on issue resolution. This role will provide 24/7 production support on an on-call rotation. You will support various projects including system reconciliation and development team needs. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring system changes are implemented through testing, capacity planning, and adherence to IT Guidelines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Monitor and maintain the ticketing queue and collaborate with other engineers to route and complete tasks as needed.

  • Collaborate with the infrastructure and development teams on issue resolution, seeking guidance and partnership from the Site Reliability Lead Engineer as needed.

  • Provide 24x7 production support as part of a team rotation, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Focus on learning how to script and automate repetitive administration tasks.  

  • Develop a strong understanding of the fundamentals of our toolset, using log analysis tools to determine and fix issues in our production environments.

  • Implement changes through sound testing procedures, capacity planning, communication, training, documentation, and impact analysis.

  • Maintain and follow policies and procedures for corporate, restaurant, and mobile systems as deemed necessary by IT Leadership.

  • Execute projects within IT Project Guidelines and ensuring adherence to the project approval/prioritization process and related documentation .

  • Support miscellaneous projects as needed.

  • Assist development and release teams with miscellaneous needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred. 

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.  

  • Microsoft Azure track certifications, Splunk Certifications, and Major APM vendor certification preferred  

  • Powershell and familiarity with Azure design and services. 

  • SQL query experience. 

  • APM experience with tools like DataDog or similar. 

  • Splunk experience.    

  • Python scripting experience.

  • Experience monitoring and maintaining Kubernetes environments.

  • Git familiarity a plus.

  • Familiarity with application principles and basic design philosophy.  

  • Ability to solve complex problems. 

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $98,000.00–$137,000.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
