The Senior Mobile Product Owner (Sr. Mobile PO) will have a deep understanding of native Mobile Apps and be the customer advocate throughout the development lifecycle. The Sr. Mobile PO will focus relentlessly on customer needs as they work with data, design, and development teams to launch new value-added features. This person will partner with the Mobile Product Manager to create the product vision and roadmap, while providing clear direction to a cross-functional, Agile team of Developers, Product Designers, and Project Managers. The Sr. Mobile PO will make creative recommendations to expand the product base and vision. They will collect and analyze feedback from internal stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products. This person will also participate in interviewing, hiring decisions, on-boarding training and mentoring team members. 



In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the Mobile Product Manager to understand usability, market research, competition, KPIs, trends and technology for opportunities to be a champion for the customer and drive incremental sales growth
  • Partner with stakeholders to support execution of product vision, strategy and roadmaps that address business needs and future growth. Work on large-scale initiatives impacting multiple Scrum Teams and distill complex concepts into defined User Stories with actionable Acceptance Criteria
  • Participate in discovery process for large-scale Mobile & Device App initiatives. Includes project kickoffs and work sessions to ensure solid understanding vision of Product Manager. Serves as the Product Owner Lead and can represent mobile domain area on behalf of the team
  • Provides Mobile & Device App subject matter expertise – explains the product vision and User Stories to the team to ensure requirements are understood and customer value is delivered
  • Manage mobile product feature backlogs to ensure the maximum value of delivery and to enable realistic forecasting, alignment with the product roadmap and delivery expectation-management. Lead product feature backlog grooming meetings and be able to answer all relevant questions for development teams
  • Leads the team in proactively identifying dependencies and tradeoffs as well as problem solving risks that may appear in the development process
  • Responsible for assuring a level of quality has been achieved by validating that the Story meets acceptance criteria and has met acceptance tests prior and post-production launch verification
  • Continuous monitoring of product feature performance, “Voice of the Customer” results for their product, and make iterative recommendations




  • Possess a B.A./B.S., or an equivalent in education and experience  
  • 5-8+ years of direct-to-consumer Mobile App product management/ownership delivering digital software products in online ordering, e-commerce and retail industries
  • In depth knowledge of mobile UX/UI design best practices and ability to make daily design decisions. A solid grasp of the principles and application of user-centered design techniques
  • Skilled at creating high-quality customer/business requirements, and partnering with stakeholders, application developers, UX/UI and vendors through the discovery and development process
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, drives for simplicity and clarity, able to confidently present and influence senior management
  • Inspire, lead and mentor other high-performing Product Owners to consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences that drives Chipotle to become a premier digital brand
  • Deep knowledge and experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment with the ability to lead requirements capture, write user stories, shape the vision, prioritize backlog
  • Extensive experience with Rally, Jira, Confluence or similar product management tools



  • Technical expertise with ability to understand broader business needs and strategy
  •  Experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, A/B Testing, Zeplin, Invision
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving issues that will impede success of the products
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to develop plans, set objectives, and manage to results
  • Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO) preferred
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic team environment and able to multi-task with changing priorities in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to work effectively under very broad direction with minimal supervision. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, process, and gap analysis skills
