THE OPPORTUNITY 

Responsible for managing Chipotle’s accounting policy sub-function, providing technical accounting expertise, managing international franchise accounting and contributing to other special projects. Responsibilities include managing resources to achieve team goals and produce timely and accurate financial reporting deliverables. Requires a moderate degree of project management to support company initiatives. Provides quality services through creating and executing on goals that advance the results of the department and improve accounting processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to: 

·       Provide technical accounting expertise to the finance and business organizations on the consequences of transactions and related accounting issues impacting our business

·       Review significant / unusual / one-time transactions prior to execution for any potential accounting issues, guide business on the structure of transactions such that they are compliant with GAAP, identification and evaluation of alternative solutions and providing recommendations that optimize both business and accounting outcomes

·       Prepare technical accounting memos on key technical matters for submission to the independent auditor

·       Improve Chipotle’s accounting policies and procedures, including business processes and documentation

·       Perform all work in compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and SOX controls 

·       Manage financial statement process for one or more functional area, such as loyalty program accounting

·       Manage accounting processes related to international franchise operations

·       Communicating with Chipotle’s leadership regarding accounting policies and procedures 

·       Leading or participating in various types of projects or company initiatives 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE 

·       BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and CPA required 

·       5-8 years in a related field

·       Public accounting and accounting advisory experience preferred 

·       Excellent analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills.  

·       Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP Accounting Framework

·       Strong problem-solving skills to analyze data, draw conclusions and develop recommendations

·       Strong knowledge of and ability to efficiently utilize technology  

·       Strong understanding and the ability to adhere to Internal Controls 

·       Ability to work independently, including the ability to create strong connections, build confidence, provide feedback, teach, and share information  

·       Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects and people in a fast-paced environment  

·       Has big picture perspective, strong attention to detail and excellent follow through

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $126,000-$176,000. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
