THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Investor Relations Manager, you will be responsible for helping to shape and communicate Chipotle’s investment narrative. You will build strong relationships with investors and analysts, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant disclosure. This role partners closely with Finance, Legal, Communications, and the Executive Team to support earnings, guidance, and ongoing investor engagement.
LOCATION
This position will be based in our Newport Beach, CA office 4 days per week (with work from home on Friday). Remote work is not available for this role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Prepare on-time and error free quarterly earnings deliverables to include timelines, cross-functional inputs, press release, shareholder letter, call script, and Q&A.
- Maintain consensus models and guidance trackers; analyzing variances against actuals and peers.
- Aid in creating Reg FD–compliant disclosure in partnership with Legal and Finance (e.g., 8-Ks, 10-Q/K milestones with the SEC reporting team).
- Serve as the second point of contact for buy-side and sell-side; scheduling NDRs, conferences, and site visits.
- Prepare and continuously refine the investor deck, tear sheets, FAQs, and talking points.
- Support analyst coverage, monitor published research, and maintain accurate fact sheets and messaging.
- Translate strategy, product roadmap, and KPIs into clear, investor-ready narratives.
- Produce competitive and sector analyses; synthesize investor feedback to inform leadership and Board updates.
- Partner with FP&A on long-range model assumptions and capital allocation messaging.
- Uphold disclosure controls, Reg FD practices, and IR website accuracy and accessibility.
- Coordinate potential investor day planning, ESG/ sustainability messaging alignment.
- Help to plan IR calendar, CRM, targeting lists, perception studies, and engagement analytics.
- Track shareholder base dynamics, short interest, and ownership quality; provide regular dashboards to leadership.
- Collaborate internal partners to include Communications on media alignment; with Legal on safe harbor and disclosure; with HR/DEI and Sustainability on relevant metrics; with Product and GTM teams on market updates that inform the narrative.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA/CFA preferred.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in Investor Relations, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance/FP&A, or Strategy.
- Strong financial acumen and proficiency in Excel/financial modeling
- Ability to interpret and explain P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, unit economics, and key metrics.
- Working knowledge of Reg FD and the public company disclosure process; familiarity with 10-K/10-Q/8-K cycles.
- Experience with IR and market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg/FactSet/Capital IQ, Q4/Notified/Irwin, Workiva or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex topics.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills
- Strategic storytelling with message discipline; crafting clear, investor ready narratives across earnings, decks, and the IR site.
- Analytical rigor and crisp data visualization; building reliable models and dashboard that surface drives, risks, and trends.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage stakeholder partnerships and demonstrate a strong executive presence
- Sound judgment and strict confidentiality with the ability to handle material non-public information appropriately
- Action oriented with end-to-end process ownership with high-quality work standards under tight deadlines
- Ability to work onsite during core business hours
- Ability to travel 10% – 25% for conferences, NDRs, and investor meetings.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $131,000.00–$183,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
