This role contributes to the execution of Chipotle’s strategy, vision, and values by supporting one or more regions through financial thought leadership. They manage and develop a team of Field Finance Analysts to influence and support a region to Deliver the Plan. The manager is responsible for providing meaningful and actionable insights, business perspectives, and financial leadership to the Regional Teams and Field Finance Partners. They contribute to the financial management for the region(s) including strategic planning, performance measurement, budgeting, analysis, and training. The individual works closely with Regional Leadership Teams and Accounting/Finance Departments to ensure that financial efforts effectively support Chipotle’s business culture, objectives, and philosophy.


In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partnering with the Director of Field Finance to protect and strengthen the Chipotle business model and foster a positive team culture for team members to grow and learn
  • Training, managing, and mentoring a team of Field Finance Analysts which includes building relationships with and influencing the regional teams their direct reports support
  • Analyzing and consulting on the financial impact of key regional strategies, and helping direct the development of long-term regional strategic plans
  • Coordinating the preparation and presentation of regional financial plans and interpreting trends and financial results of the regions
  • Identifying gaps between plan/forecasted results and targets, and making recommendations to ensure annual financial goals are achieved
  • Coordinating with all levels of Regional Management and Finance in assessing needs for financial information, developing plans, reports, analyses, and tools to meet those needs
  • Identifying profit and cost opportunities and influencing Regional Management on the prioritization of strategies to realize such opportunities
  • Serving as the primary liaison between regions and Columbus Accounting Center to resolve significant accounting issues
  • Developing financial reporting for varying levels of management within the region, effectively communicating actionable and important insight
  • Training all levels of Regional Management and Regional Support Teams on financial matters and policies


  • B.A./B.S. in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; or an equivalent in education and experience
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • Ability to influence and lead others on complex issues of strategic importance
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities, develop business cases, and align broad audiences on action items to impact the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and the ability to manage financial information in a confidential and professional manner
  • Desire and experience to coach and mentor team members
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and pay close attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations
  • Working knowledge of profitability analysis and financial planning process
  • Understanding of restaurant operations and their impact on financial matters
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use a PC with demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Experience with reporting/query tools (SQL, PowerBI, Tableau) and Oracle EPM a plus


  • Five (5) years of experience in financial management or related areas, including accounting, planning and analysis, and financial reporting
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Multi-unit restaurant/retail experience preferred
