The Demand Planning Manager is a leader in the development of planning strategies and item level forecasts across functional and technical planning. Will develop the Sales and Operations Planning roadmap and execution within Chipotle, bringing together the Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing teams for alignment. This person will possess tactical analytical skills and be very hands on, become a subject matter expert within the technical forecasting spectrum, and demonstrate the capability to be a people leader that can galvanize senior leadership. Maintains optimal efficiency related to planning and generates reports about programs, plans, and performance. Reviews development proposals to ensure planning aligns with business needs. Is an outward facing partner to the business and strong collaborator with other departments within the organization.


  • Lead the consensus forecasting process with partners in Marketing, Planning and Finance resulting in forecast alignment and financial reconciliation
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Finance to understand both core and promotional lift material, and sensitivity analysis within alternative scenario planning
  • Maintain and continually improve statistical forecasting models and methodologies
  • Generate volumes for direct / indirect items, core menu items and LTO / promotional activity on a periodic basis
  • Analyze item level history, trends and indicators to adjust the forward-looking plan
  • Create reporting with detailed analysis for key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Works with Supply Planning, Technology team and any necessary consultants to facilitate and roll out new systems implementations or reporting capabilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced degree required
  • 3+ years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role
  • 3 or more years’ generating forecasts, statistical analytics, and statistical modeling within a supply chain
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a management role within supply chain
  • Experience working within a demand systems environment such as Oracle, SAP or other
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Experience with Supply Chain Technical Systems implementation preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Responsiveness, sound judgement
  • Experience leading cross functional discussions, ideally through S&OP processes
