Accounting & Reporting Senior Analyst (22001473)



The Financial Reporting & Accounting Analyst completes, updates, and maintains complex and routine journal entries for the monthly general ledger close. The Analyst analyzes and interprets status of accounts and communicates results.  He/she participates in annual audits, and documents accounting procedures under GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. The Analyst prepares both internal and external financial statements accurately and in a timely manner.  



In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare complex and routine journal entries during the monthly general ledger close and throughout the month. Reconcile accounts and help maintain the chart of accounts.
  • Analyze and interpret the status of accounts at a financial statement level and communicate pertinent information and KPIs to the appropriate managers and staff.
  • Prepare external and internal financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in annual external audit and quarterly reviews; this includes working with the accounting team to establish schedules and meet any related deadlines, support conclusions/positions, provide requested back-up to auditors
  • Develop and perform internal controls under SOX requirements; maintain documentation over accounting and financial reporting processes; assisting with SOX compliance and internal audit requests.
  • Perform international accounting, consolidation, and participate in annual statutory audits
  • Maintain the policies and procedures manual and perform occasional technical accounting research
  • Assist or manage accounting work for assigned special projects
  • Identify areas of opportunity throughout accounting processes and the business, and proactively act on those opportunities by suggesting and/ or making changes. Focus on efficiencies gained via ERP technology implementation, robotic process automation, and data visualization integration.
  • Work efficiently and independently by utilizing available resources to manage multiple deadlines or projects at the same time
  • Share knowledge with others about accounting and financial reporting.




  • B.A./B.S. or Masters in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting (Big4 Preferred)
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience accounting for a variety of issues in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Proficient with MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Positive Attitude
  • Love collaborating and working in a team
  • Ability to self-service
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively manage priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage financial data in a confidential and professional manner
