The Senior Analyst, Benefit Administration is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the Leave of Absence (LOA) program and may also assist with day-to-day operations of other group benefits programs (Health, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO, etc.). This position provides excellent customer service and oversees quality benefits plans. The role continually looks for improvements of existing LOA processes and monitors all facets of leave administration. This Senior Analyst, Benefit Administration will assist employees, globally, with LOA information and partner with our third-party administrator to ensure corporate and field leaves are executed timely and accurately. The ideal person will be energized by and passionate about our brand and cultural transformation with a burning desire to play a pivotal role in shaping the organizational benefits structure and contribute to the development of Total Reward programs. These critical contributions will be made through careful administrative practices, engaging with internal and external customers and working with external partners to find proactive solutions. All of this will help support the development and on-going administration of benefits programs and promote longevity and wellness in the design of benefit programs.




In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans.
  • Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
  • Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
  • Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.
  • Partner with appropriate team members to ensure successful benefits administration with the highest level of accuracy
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and engage in project management to ensure the successful delivery and completion of benefits related projects
  • Complete complex and technical data analysis and be able to effectively “tell the story” of benefits in a concise and efficient manner
  • Demonstrate commitment to the success of the People Experience benefits function by performing other essential tasks as needed




  • Our ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of non-exempt and exempt LOA experience with exposure to a large field-based employee population
  • Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
  • Current or previous multi-state and multi-site experience preferred, preferably in the restaurant/retail/hotel industry
  • A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred, preferably in Human Resources, or another related field of study
  • Experience working with Workday or other HRIS systems, online survey tools, etc.
  • Strong ability to own, execute and deliver on short- and long-term projects
  • Attention to detail with the ability to follow extensive procedural steps
  • Strategic and innovative critical thinker; able to prioritize and use sound judgment and decision-making
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Professional presence with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of collaborating with executives and business partners at all levels
  • Expert relationship management experience and skills; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with field and corporate team members, as well as external vendors and business partners
