Under direct supervision, the Payroll Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring company compliance with all new hire documentation and claims. This position is responsible for I-9 processes, minor permits, compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This role maintains ownership of follow-up with employees, leaders, and may need to collaborate with cross-functional partners on case resolution.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Review and process daily audit assignments (account merges, personal information changes, I-9 review, expiring work authorizations, employees not eligible for rehire, minor permit review).
Investigate low tier I-9 related errors (photo matches, relaunching failed cases, false authorizations, hire date mis-matches).
Follow-up on outstanding onboarding documents (minor permits, I-9 documentation, etc.).
Research Tier 2 email inquiries and service tickets (rehire eligibility/approvals, general compliance related inquires).
Complete review of outstanding onboarding items for terminated employee profiles in Workday.
Run audit for store missing an I-9 trained manager.
Follow-up on outstanding ServSafe certifications needing scanned into Workday.
Complete monthly minor permit audit assignments.
Assists with other projects as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
Bachelor’s degree preferred
1-3 years of experience in Human Resources/Onboarding/Employment Compliance/Reporting & Auditing
Proficient with MS Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
HRIS Navigation preferred
