Our crew members take pride in preparing and serving Chipotle’s delicious food. A Take-out Specialist takes this one step further by leading the Secondary Make Line and ensuring that every fax, online, mobile, Burritos by the Box and catering order made in the restaurant is an extraordinary customer experience.

Take-out Specialists have the opportunity to run a small ‘business’ within their Chipotle, which means they’ll help drive marketing and build sales. Take-out Specialists are top performers who are already an ace in their place when working the line (tortilla, salsa and expo) and cash stations. Our Take-out Specialists have the highest standards in the areas of mise en place, customer service, throughput, food, and ownership. Take-out Specialists’ responsibilities require them to be on their feet working while clocked in, unless on break. If they are not busy, they are expected to pitch in and help their teammates, which could include anything from taking on additional tasks that need to be done to assisting on the line.


In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Food
• Ensuring excellent mise en place (everything is in its place) on the Secondary Make Line
• Maintaining appropriate portion control and consistently monitoring the freshness of the food on the Secondary Make Line
• Anticipating and reacting to fax/online/mobile/BBTB/catering order volume; adjusting the queue accordingly
• Maintaining proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards while preparing fax/online/mobile/BBTB/catering orders
Customer Experience
• Executing all fax/online/mobile/BBTB/catering orders accurately, efficiently and on time
• Ensuring the Secondary Make Line is properly staffed and well trained in order to provide a quality experience to every Chipotle customer
• Calling customers back to see how their ordering experience was; completing callback logs
• Resolving customer issues by doing the right thing; diagnosing the root cause of the issue so it doesn’t happen again

Sales Building
• Executing proven marketing strategies to build the sales volume of the Secondary Make Line
• Building customer relationships in order to gain loyalty so the Take-out Specialist becomes the “go to” person for the Secondary Make Line

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a leader (Ace in Place) at Line (Tortilla, Salsa and Expo) and Cash and have the ability to lead the Secondary Make Line
• Have the ability to develop positive working relationships with all restaurant personnel and work as part of a team by helping others as needed or requested
• Have the ability and desire to build strong relationships with customers
• Be able to exhibit a cheerful and helpful attitude, and provide exceptional customer service – including resolving customer issues
• Be able to adapt to changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency; is proactive by nature
• Have great attention to detail and ability to multi-task to ensure Secondary Make Line orders are completed accurately and on time
• Have an interest in marketing and building sales
• Have the ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees
• Identify their replacement and train them to be better than they are
• Have the ability to demonstrate a complete understanding of the menu
• Have the ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times and display a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
• Have the ability to communicate in the primary language(s) of the work location
• Have an interest in leading the Secondary Make Line for a period of at least 6 months
• Have a high school diploma
